1. Woodcarving crafts should not be exposed to high temperatures.
Like other works, woodcarving crafts are not suitable for high temperature environments. Exposure to the sun will make the wood brittle and hard, and the texture will be damaged. In particular, they should not be placed on the balcony. If placed in the window, they should be placed next to the curtains and in the shade. For example, the wood of longan woodcarving is hard and should be avoided from sunlight. Indoor furnishings should be kept in a humid environment to prevent drying. At the same time, woodcarving crafts should not be placed near open flames, fire walls, kangs, and stoves.
2. Woodcarving crafts should not be placed in humid or extremely dry rooms.
In a very humid environment, some woodcarving crafts will grow "hair". For example, green sandalwood crafts will spit out silvery-white silk. Although it is a beautiful scenery, as far as I know, many people still don't like it.
In a too dry environment, some woodcarving crafts may partially crack. Moreover, everyone's living standards are much higher than in the past. The simplest is reflected in the life in the north, where there is heating in winter and air conditioning in summer. Therefore, you should pay attention to not letting the wood carvings blow directly at the air conditioning vents. Also, do not place them near the heating pipes.
3. Do not wipe with a towel with water
It is not suitable to wipe with a towel with water. It is better to wipe with a pure cotton towel containing wax or oil. Many people like to wipe with a wet rag after buying wood carvings. If you often wipe with a wet rag, the water will penetrate into the wood carvings and gradually damage the wood carvings. Therefore, you can use a dry cotton cloth or a feather duster to dust off the wood carvings when cleaning. If you find that the gloss of the wood carvings is not good, you can use a brush to apply polishing wax to the surface of the wood carvings, and then wipe with a rag to polish. Or wipe with waxy or greasy fabrics. Depending on whether the room is clean or not, often use dry cotton cloth or feather duster to remove the dust on the wood carvings to show their natural beauty. If you find that the gloss of the wood carvings is not good, you can use a brush to apply polishing wax on the surface of the wood carvings, and then wipe it with a rag to polish it. Of course, you can also use a pure cotton towel dipped in some walnut oil to gently wipe the surface of the wood carvings to achieve the desired effect. However, it is important not to wipe with a towel with water, which will make the wood carvings too wet, and will not achieve the expected effect, but will also hurt them. Small pieces of mahogany can be wiped more often to make them redder and brighter, and can add an elegant artistic conception.
Maintenance and collection of wood carvings
Generally, carved wooden artworks, especially religious artworks, should not be cleaned and wiped with a wet cloth to prevent the wood from absorbing too much moisture and becoming moldy; also, do not place the artworks in damp corners, exposed to the sun, or directly in front of the air-conditioning outlet. The correct way should be to use a clean and soft brush head to gently brush away the dust. If there are stubborn stains, you can choose a fine-textured rag to gently wipe them off.
